Advanced Mobility Collective Adds RoGO Communications
Integrating Premier Wildfire Management Solutions from Colorado
“RoGO Fire LLC, the company with unique remote satellite communications tech for first responders, has joined forces with our team at The Collective. We couldn’t be more excited!” – Todd Spain, Executive Director
The Advanced Mobility Collective proudly announces the latest organization to join its ranks as a member of its ever-expanding team, RoGO Fire LLC. This Boulder, Colorado company delivers the FAACTS (Firefighting Advanced Asset, Communication, Tracking System), a patented state of the art advanced GPS/satellite integrated communication solution for emergency responders.
In the wake of the 2013 Yarnell Hill Fire that took the lives of 19 brave Granite Mountain hotshots due, in part, to a lack of situational awareness (SA) and poor communications, the company’s co-founders, the Goossen brothers, said “We can do better!” Rodger, an electrical engineer who specializes in avionics, and Derek, a firefighter who attained the rank of Captain, have made it their life mission to improve firefighter SA and reduce line of duty deaths, firefighting expenses and property damage.
Communications in wildland firefighting, particularly in remote areas, presents a challenge. Lack of VHF or cellular service and the limited range of hand-held radios results in spotty, inaccurate and, at times, a total lack of comms. FACTS enables firefighters to communicate with incident command and emergency response operations in real time and share up to the minute vital scene information, like the status & GPS location of firefighters and resources, weather, digital mapping, photos, changes in assignment and more
The Collective is committed to helping the nation’s first responders and citizens mitigate, respond and recover through an emphasis on disaster management & resiliency (DM&R). Its DM&R focus areas include wildfire prevention, suppression and management. To achieve its mission, the Collective assembles and interconnects the digital, communication physical and process systems for repeatable solutions. Its members are committed to driving the design and development of economically sustainable operations by interconnecting the essential components of advanced mobility to deliver impactful outcomes.
“The Collective links companies, partners and services to create scalable solutions for the good of humanity. RoGO brings expertise and a trusted first responder communications solution to our community. We welcome them to the team!” - Todd Spain, Executive Directo
